Soundscapes
of our Landscapes

Adam Buckeridge presents:

SOUNDSCAPES OF OUR LANDSCAPES

Put your headphones on and immerse yourself in these amazing soundscapes!
Picture
• Provide an immersive, beautiful and thought-provoking audio experience, based on three common UK environments.
• Raise awareness of environmental issues on a local and national level, as well as  remind people of nature and other communities during the current climate.

"It is my intention to recreate and accentuate each environment by highlighting the beauty  and vitality of the natural or urban settings chosen. This will be achieved through careful  sound mixing to try and convey a sense of sound hyperrealism via a stereo image. A hyper realistic approach will focus attention on sounds that compete with each other within these  environments and which often go unnoticed by people going about their business. This  method is also useful for helping to compensate for the other human senses that one would  usually experience if they were present themselves.
The soundscapes will be used as backdrops for the more artistic component of the project,  which is to create unnatural and unsettling sound elements as representations of threats to each environment. Using mainly creative audio techniques, these sounds will creep their way into the sound environment, affecting the narrative; before each piece comes to a  hopeful and positive conclusion."
